Besides
the financial data, operational data about oil and gas corporations were
obtained. In this article, we compared the hydrocarbon production in each oil
and gas company in 2024 obtained from Annual Report of 2024. Basically, in
organic chemistry science, the term hydrocarbon is an organic compound
consisting purely of chemical elements of hydrogen (H) and carbon (C).
Chemically, Hydrocarbons are generally colourless and hydrophobic (repelled
from a mass of water). Furthermore, in the fossil fuel/ oil and gas industries,
hydrocarbon refers to naturally occurring petroleum, natural gas and coal, or
their hydrocarbon derivatives and purified forms including gasoline/ petrol,
diesel fuel/ oil, Jet fuel, Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG), Kerosene,
Lubricants and Paraffin, Petrochemical, feedstock, and others.
